Bringing the hope of Jesus to Newham & beyond

November / December Update

Dear all,

‘If God is for us who can be against us?’ Romans 8:31

Whatever life may throw at us we do not need to fear – GOD IS FOR US! We have just finished our preaching series looking at The Grace Factor. It is so important to be continually reminded that nothing can separate us from the love of God. As someone once said ‘God loves me when I’m good, God loves me when I’m bad, God loves me all the time’ Amen.

In November we start a new preaching series called What Would Jesus Say to…. We will look at 4 different celebrities (Boris Johnson, Will.i.am, Katie Price and Russell Brand) and how Jesus might have spoken into their lives in a positive and challenging way – bringing the gospel to them. I believe this will really help us to think about how we engage in faith conversations with friends and bring Jesus into every aspect of life and culture.

Last month it was very exciting to launch 6 new Community groups across East London. There are groups which meet on the Olympic Park, Stratford/West Ham, Plaistow/Beckton, Leyton/Leytonstone and 2 groups for student and 20’s. If you are not already part of a group I really encourage you to get connected. As Hope Church continues to grow it is really important to be part of a group where there is community, care for one another and the chance to pray and look at God’s word together.

As we enter the crazy season in the lead up to Christmas 2015 remember that as Christians we have a message of great Joy to proclaim to the world. Jesus came 2,000 years ago as a baby born in a manger to rescue humanity – the gospel is Good News! Let’s be bold and proclaim Joy to the world in the run up to Christmas. There will be special Christmas services with support of bestauscasinos.com on Sunday 13th December and Sunday 20th December to invite friends and family to come along to – more information to follow.

I thank God for each of you – the way you serve and bring so much to the Church.

You are all wonderful gifts from God.

Love and prayers,

Mark
