December Update

It seems unbelievable but Christmas is almost upon us.  The Christmas tunes are playing in the shops & adverts for every conceivable gift are being shown on the television.

Christmas is a great opportunity to invite someone along to church to hear the gospel and the reason why we celebrate the birth of Jesus born in a manger 2,000 years ago. This year we are having two special services on Sunday 11th December & Sunday 18th December – both entitled Christmas – Do you believe? We will be taking a break from preaching through Galatians and be looking at the Christmas story with a gospel message.  There are some fantastic leaflets available, designed by Lily, to help you invite friends and family along.  Do pray about who you can invite and ask God for a great response of people becoming Christians!

Hope Church will be meeting on Christmas Day – Sunday 25th December, 11am @Sarah Bonnell School for a celebration of the birth of Jesus.  This will be a shorter service of about an hour followed by refreshments.  If you are in East London over Christmas do come and celebrate this special day in the Christian calendar with the church family.

Hope Church will NOT be meeting on Sunday 1st January.  This will be a chance for people to rest and there are a number of people away and so enjoy a relaxing start to the year.

The first service of 2012 will be Sunday January 8th – don’t miss it!  This will be followed by a week of prayer to mark the new year as we look ahead to all God has for us in 2012.

My prayer is that in this busy season of the year each of you will know the peace and joy of Jesus this Christmas.  I will be praying for wonderful times of fun, rest and relaxation and God’s protection over everyone at Hope Church this festive period

I thank God for each of you – the way you serve and bring so much to the church.

You are all wonderful gifts from God.

Love and prayers,

Mark
